How to use Samsung DeX (SM-N97X)

Introduction

 

Samsung DeX is a service that allows you to use your smartphone like a computer by
connecting the smartphone to an external display, such as a TV or monitor, or to a computer.
Accomplish tasks you want done on your smartphone quickly and easily on a large screen using a keyboard and mouse. While using Samsung DeX, you can simultaneously use your
smartphone.

 

 

Connecting devices and starting Samsung DeX

 

Connecting to an external display
You can connect your smartphone to an external display using an HDMI adaptor (USB Type-C
to HDMI) or DeX Pad. The following content is about how to use the HDMI adaptor.

 

 

 

•  All accessories are sold separately.
•  Use only official Samsung DeX supported accessories that are provided by
Samsung. Performance problems and malfunctions caused by using accessories
that are not officially supported are not covered by the warranty.

 

 

1 Connect an HDMI adaptor to your smartphone.
2 Connect an HDMI cable to the HDMI adaptor and to a TV or monitor’s HDMI port.

3 On your smartphone’s screen, tap Continue → Start.
   Without changing your smartphone’s screen, the Samsung DeX screen will appear on the
   connected TV or monitor.

 

 

 

 

Connecting to a computer

 

You can use Samsung DeX by connecting your smartphone to a computer using a USB cable.
1 Connect your smartphone to a computer using a USB cable.
2 Open the notification panel, tap Samsung DeX.
   The screen for the app installation instructions will appear.

3 Follow the on-screen instructions to download the Samsung DeX app on the computer.
4 When the app is installed, connect your device to the USB cable again.
   The Samsung DeX screen will appear
